As Milkywire continues to grow, we are now looking for a Financial Controller to take ownership of our financial operations. This is a great opportunity to step into a broad role with significant responsibility from day one, with the potential to grow and evolve alongside Milkywire’s journey.

The Role
As Financial Controller, you will own Milkywire’s day-to-day financial processes and play a critical role in driving accurate reporting and informed decision-making.

In this initial role, you’ll take ownership of Milkywire’s finance function, collaborating with leadership and external partners to ensure compliance and build scalable processes. Over time, the role has the potential to evolve significantly, depending on company growth and your own ambitions.

This is a hands-on position that combines accounting, reporting, and controlling in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Closing: Lead the monthly and annual closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  

• Budgeting & Analysis: Develop and follow up on budgets, analyze variances and trends, and provide actionable insights.
  

• Management Reporting: Prepare reports and decision-making materials for management and the board, including P&L, cash flow, and cost tracking.
  

• Payroll & HR Finance Processes: Ensure smooth handling of salaries, pensions, expenses, and related processes.
  

• Audit & Compliance: Act as the main contact for auditors and external accounting partners during audits and annual reporting.
  

• Process Development: Identify and drive improvements to streamline financial routines and support Milkywire’s growth.
  

Your Background & Profile
We’re looking for a structured and detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to take full ownership of the finance function in a growing company.

• Around 2–5 years of experience in audit, accounting, or a finance role, providing you with a solid foundation in financial reporting and analysis.
  

• Strong knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, and closing processes.
  

• Experience working with budgets, cost tracking, and financial analysis.
  

• Excellent Excel skills and confidence working with data.
  

• Collaborative mindset and experience working with external stakeholders such as auditors and accounting firms.
  

• Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
  

• You are a self-starter who takes initiative, combining strong analytical skills with a doer mindset that thrives on turning plans into concrete results.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience from a Big 4 firm (PwC, EY, KPMG, Deloitte) within audit or advisory.
  

• Experience working in a fast-growing company, such as a scale-up or tech environment.
  

• Proven experience developing and improving financial processes.
